What do Singapore banks usually ask a new company?

Last updated: Oct 21, 2026, 17:46 (UTC+08:00)

They want to see who owns and controls the company, what it does, where its customers and suppliers are, and why it needs a Singapore account. Many ask the directors who sign on the account to join a video call. Having a founder who is also a director, and invoices or contracts in the company's name, makes the review easier. The bank decides.

Ask OCC is an AI assistant, not a person. Answers are written by an AI model from Anthropic (Claude), using our published prices and facts, and it can make mistakes. Answers are general information, not legal or tax advice. Please do not share passport, bank or card details; we remove numbers that look like them. We store chats, with those numbers removed, for 30 days, or 24 months if you send us an enquiry.
