How is a Philippine company name approved?

Last updated: Oct 21, 2026, 17:46 (UTC+08:00)

The name is verified and reserved online with the SEC before the articles are filed. It must not be identical or confusingly similar to an existing name, and it usually ends with “Corporation”, “Corp.”, “Incorporated” or “Inc.”; a One Person Corporation ends with “OPC”. We check your choices and reserve the best one.

Ask OCC is an AI assistant, not a person. Answers are written by an AI model from Anthropic (Claude), using our published prices and facts, and it can make mistakes. Answers are general information, not legal or tax advice. Please do not share passport, bank or card details; we remove numbers that look like them. We store chats, with those numbers removed, for 30 days, or 24 months if you send us an enquiry.
